Winning a deal
We are halfway through 4cLegal Academy: today, the finalists will face their fourth challenge, and it is not going to be a piece of cake. Today’s topic will be M&A: the first lesson will be held by two industry experts, Mr. Christian Iannaccone and Ms. Barbara Donato from DLA Piper Global Law Firm, who will give an overview on the topic and then focus on Due Diligence and ESG standards, which have become key factors in this kind of transactions. The following practical test will be supervised by a teacher of international standing: Ms. Sonia Fernández Lovelle, Legal Director HC Benelux and AT Compliance Europe at HeidelbergCement, who will present the finalists an actual case of a company acquisition. They will be divided into two teams and will have to wear the shoes of the buyer and seller respectively. The negotiation will be intense and will be conducted in English! Who will win?
